Freundlich Adsorption Isotherm and Electrochemical Characterization of Cellulose acetate-Tween-20 supported liquid membrane
Cellulose acetate (CA) and Tween-20(T-20) are interacted and resulted as a supported liquid membrane system. The membrane potential was measured with uni-uni valent electrolyte, NaCl solutions using saturated calomel electrodes (SCEs).The effective fixed charge density of the membrane was determined by TMS method. Other important electrochemical parameters were calculated. Membrane adsorb-abili...
متن کاملPebax-Modified Cellulose Acetate Membrane for CO2/N2 Separation
Carbon dioxide (CO2) release from the exhaust gas streams of power plants that burn fossil fuels contributes the most emission of this gas, which includes more than half of the greenhouse effects. Thus, the separation of CO2 from exhaust gases is one of the main environmental concerns. Membrane technology, due to many advantages, has attracted many research attentions among the various gas sepa...
متن کاملStudies of Electrospun Cellulose Acetate Nanofibrous Membranes
The objective of this work was to study the feasibility of preparing cellulose acetate (CA) nanofibrous membranes by electrospinning with single solvent and their potential applying as affinity membrane. CA solutions in dichloromethane (DCM), formic acid, acetic acid and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) were electrospun into nonwoven fiber membranes, respectively. The scanning electron microscope (SE...
متن کاملSupported Liquid Membrane in Metal Ion Separation: An Overview
Using liquid membrane and, in particular, supported liquid membrane (SLM) is a novel method of separation in comparison to other methods such as adsorption, extraction and ion exchange. SLM is a combination of simultaneous extraction and disposal whose high efciency and capability is proven by many studies. So far, many researchers have utilized SLM in various scientifc...
متن کاملThermodynamics of cellulose dissolution in an imidazolium acetate ionic liquid.
The heat of dissolution of cellulose in one imidazolium acetate ionic liquid was determined experimentally. The value of -132 ± 8 J g(-1) indicates that the dissolution is exothermal thus confirming energetically favourable cellulose-ionic liquid interactions but indicating that an increase in temperature does not thermodynamically favour the dissolution process.
